To facilitate these projects, the British ambassador in Colombia, George Hodgson, mentioned the UK Export Finance mechanism, which allocates 5.5 billion pounds, approximately 26 billion dollars, to Colombia. This financing seeks to take advantage of the British Government's favorable interest rates, with a simple condition: the projects must have at least 20% British content.
The investment reached will be earmarked for projects such as 5G technologies, rail and waterway construction, and wind energy. This figure could be reached in one or two years, depending on the type of projects that materialize.
Ambassador Roy Barreras highlighted that this opportunity will not only benefit Colombia in the development of infrastructure and clean energy, but also represents a growth scenario for British investors in Latin America.
With these initiatives, Colombia will strengthen its economy and promote international collaboration in projects of vital importance to the country and stand out in the region.
